july re-cap, 9 months, big brother

I'm going to be a speedy blogger to play catch-up!
July of 2013. Found out I was pregnant and basically, I tanked!

So here is Jonah, 9 months old
He got his 3rd tooth (top right)
pulling to stand  like a pro
started to cruise
likes to throw his toys out of his pack-n-play on purpose
finger-feeding much better
found out that you're going to be a big brother!
started to say "mamama" "babababa"
eating more food and still breastfeeding!

week-by-week photos

That was fast..he's getting so big!

Jonah's 1st 4th of july!
We went for a run and he passed out on me.

happy 4th!

playing with mom's breast pump. don't shoot me when you're 10 and reading this Jonah!

Play date with Eli and the Perrys!

I dressed them for church....just alike!

Next up, we went to Nashville for Cassie's wedding (work friend) and stayed at the Stout's house
they have a swing set in the back yard.

Jonah loved it. Cindy came over too! Fun times!

water play! Norah loved seeing Jonah. She got to help babysit while Kyle and I went to the wedding.

What a beautiful outdoor wedding for July. Ended up being a breeze.

Congrats Cassie! Love my work friends!

Kyle's BBQ team was practicing at the Clements.
love his whale trunks!

Sloane and Jonah in the pool. I was not feeling well...baby peanut was sucking all the life out of me.

I love my Fridays off with my Jonah
He loves his Boomer

Silly boy doesn't like to nap when mom is home on Fridays.

We told Aunt Leah about baby peanut...
Kyle wants a mini-van. He's wanted one and Leah said we could not get one until we had 2 kids. Well....I guess we will meet the mini-van standards!

We told our parents at the same time. My parents were over and we facetime'd Kyle parents. We were taking J's weekly picture and after I took it, I said "hey I have a great idea for a pic" and I pulled out this sign. They were floored. I wish I could have captured my mom's stunned look!

Now on to the month 10!!

food for finance: back to the grind

My maternity leave ended on Christmas eve since Jonah was 2 weeks late coming to this world. That worked out great for me (go Jonah) because we were closed! So I didn't have to go back until the day after Christmas which meant I only worked 2 days! We've decided that I will only work 4 days a week so I can be off on Fridays. Then the next week was New Years...same situation. I only worked 2 days. It really helped ease me into work. However, I REALLY liked working just 2 days a week.

I came straight home on my 1st day back to get some snuggle time with Jonah. Boomer missed me as well. He loved me being home the last 12 weeks.

Update on our Total Money Makeover-we are still on baby step 3c (the C means we are saving to buy a newer car).  We have our 6 month emergency fund in place. Before we move on to step 4, 5, and 6 we want to have money saved for a car since we both have cars that are 10 years old. We also have to pay taxes on an IRA we are transferring. I feel like we're stuck in the never ending circle of baby step 3 but we've come so far!

We are very blessed that Kyle got a new job with more money. Since I am working 16 hours less a month and Kyle is going to stop doing trivia in February, it works out being the same as what we were working. But now we both get more time at home with Jonah! Win-Win!

I'll update when we complete this new goal. And you will know because that will mean we will be paying a lot towards our house which means we will be closer to being debt-free!

Proud Kyle!

Jonah is ready to earn his keep.

The many faces of Jonah....

I love him!

my work shower

My work over did it! They are so sweet to me! August was shower month.
They had the cutest decorations!

I am lucky because the main people I work with are party planners and I get to benefit from it! They got their ideas off pinterest. They had a taco bar and a make your own dessert pizza cookie! YUM!

James helping me open presents. (Katherine's little one)

I got a BOB! I was shocked! Now I can get in shape after McBoy gets here! James and Allie (Julie's little one) are helping now.

The happy couple

The people that threw it together.
Katherine, Haley, Cassie, Jen, Kajuanda, Julie

It was so much fun and I really did get so much stuff that I needed. I am grateful to work with such an amazing, supportive work group!

april's going away

One of my favorite people at work is moving to Georgia. April is moving to be with her family. We had a going away party for her in August. The same day I was out of town picking out baby furniture with my MIL 2.5 hours away. But I made it back in time!

The group after eating.

The only thing April wanted to do was go to Graceland Too. I've blogged about it before when she took me the 1st time and I swore I'd never go back. I went for her. Everyone needs to go just to experience it. Words cannot describe it! Paul, the owner, is a super Elivs fan. He gives tours of his crap stuff.

Danielle was REALLY scared! We had to go wake up Paul for the tour. He was in the backyard.

In mid-tour.
We were the only brave souls that went with April.

I will miss you April =( I was SO tired from my long day but it was well worth it!

takcy sweaters, pj's, & ugly sweaters

A party is always more fun when there is a theme. I was excited to have 3 themed Christmas parties!

Party # 1: We had a work Christmas potluck.  Not everyone knew it was supposed to be a tacky sweater party. The girls I work closely with decided to surprise everyone and wear our best sweaters! My poor aunt hated that I called her to borrow hers....ha! I said "at least you don't wear them anymore!"

Jennifer, Cassie, and me.

the Team 2 ladies
back-Haley, Jen, me, Cassie
front-Julie, Kajuanda, Jennifer, Wanda
We were a hit!

Party 2: My friend Cindy and her neighbors throw a wonderful party each Christmas and this time she out did herself.

She had a tent out in the backyard. It was beautiful.

It was a pot luck dinner and the theme was comfort food.

The wardrobe theme was pajamas! Kyle and Betsy were all comfy for the comfort food!

Cindy C! The hostess!

Ray and Kyle being manly.

Keith (host), Cindy B, Steph, me, and John (other host). We were the original people to attend the party when it started about 6 years ago. We sat in Cindy C's living room floor with her closet door as a table. Fun times!

Party 3: I will call this party the ugly sweater party since I already used the term tacky. So, Emily from bible study wanted to have us all over before we split for the holidays.

Cindy wrote a newsletter about what has been going in her life the past year. It was HILARIOUS! I think pharmacy school finals got to her and she went crazy!

We all brought appetizers. Somehow Besty fed Ray. At this point, we were all ready for a break.

Then someone decided it would be funny to take some awkward family photos.

The McCoys...awkward.

Ray and the sister wives...awkward.

the Brasher sisters...awkward (well Cindy).

The Betts....awkward that a 6"4 husband is sitting on his 4"11 wife!

The Perrys...awkward! Jen is snarling at Leon! HA!

I thought we had reached our max of silliness. It all started while Kyle and I were getting ready. He wanted to wear his sweater vest without a shirt under it. He said "now that would be ugly!" I vetoed that one. So he said to everyone "I told Angie I wanted to wear just the sweater vest and Angie said no."

So the boys changed to sweater vests. I.could.not.stop.laughing! AWKWARD family photo!!!

I promised I would not post the above picture...and well, I lied!
One would think that the boys lost a bet or where under the influence of something. That was not the case. They are just fun people. But I really can't believe they let us do this. But then again, they were under the impression it would not go viral! oops! Maybe awkward family photos will post this!

Group shot!

All the teachers brought candy and goodies from their kids at school. The teachers also made some desserts. Shelly and Jen were the taste testers.

They laughed so hard they were pooped! What a fun night!

Emily is a dentist and in true dentist fashion, she gave us floss as a parting gift!
