sweet summertime

I'm back to being behind. I really what to remember these sweet, crazy moments with my 2 under 2. So here is what all went on in the month of June.

My maternity leave came to an end on June 24. As you can tell Charlie (3 months) was not happy about it. It was nice to have 16 weeks off!

Baby Toms, Mama Toms-sweet Jonah feet!

Jonah  (20 months) got his 3rd hair cut from Aunt Connie.

She loves him!

Kyle was out of town for 2 weeks and I had some great help from my mom and MIL. We'd facetime everyday and this is one of the great pics I sent him. Happy Father's Day (I don't even know what we did for Father's Day?!)

I had my 3rd illness in a year. My cough came back. So my doctor made get an XRay but all was clear. Babies take all of my energy and nutrition!

I did a freezer meal workshop. It was great because when I went back to work, it was easy and stress less to meal plan. Plus Kyle and are are trying real hard to get to all clean eating. No t.v. dinners at our house. So we really have to meal plan. Saves money and our health! So if you'd like more info, visit here.

He is in the Bumbo!

Can you see the bags under my eyes?! But Charlie is so cute and worth it!

Charlie had his 1st budget meeting. He agrees because we have enough money for his diapers!

Arm wrestling!

Playdate time!!
The new babies (up top) and the old gang (on the bottom). Maddox, Eli, and Jonah are all graduates from Rara's and we miss her!

Even Jonah eats clean! We are on a smoothie kick! YUM!

Thanks to my SIL and BIL, Kyle and I got to go on a date night! Low and behold, it was FREE! Kyle got tickets because he is good like that! We went to Snowden Grove and and heard the music of Les Mis. It was great! And a beautiful night!

Another free show...
We all went to the Levitt Shell to hear Rosanne Cash.

Everyone came! However, it was short lived because it was Jonah's bedtime!

2 under 2 shopping
I told both rug rats to the grocery store solo. It would have been a good idea if I didn't go to Aldi where you have to bag your groceries. But the kids did great!

Charlie is reading about his future.

Fun in the sun!

The Splash Pad
Jonah, granddaddy, and I went to the splash park. It was so much fun!

Jonah had to warm up but after he did, he loved it!

He loved it!

Sweet snuggles

Jonah is trying to share. But I told him that Charlie can only have his Mama's milk! Such a sweet guy thought though.

Brothers. I hope and pray they are the best of friends!

Leah and I went to a paint party! So glad she is here now!

Mickey Mouse presents...
Prince Charles!!

I tell people all the time that I was prepared to have such a bad year. Bad as in no sleep and craziness because of the 2 under 2. But so far, it is not bad a all. It has times where I think I might jump off a bridge. But for the most part, I love it!

ohio state university gender reveal, DMB show, and more!

The last weekend in April was a time for celebration. My friends Jen and Leon are expecting in September. I am beyond excited for them. Also I am having flashbacks of my pregnancy last year since we basically had/have the same due date, just a year apart! I feel what you are going through Jen!

My friend Kristy that did my reveal cake and Steph's reveal had yet another great idea. Since my friends are from Ohio and are BIG OSU fans, she had this idea.

Buck-guy or a Buck-girl?

She even made this crafty sign

The future parents!

Here is Steph's reveal, and then mine. Look at our cuties!

 It's a....

Buck GIRL! Look, I even made these Buckeyes! They were yummy!

April married a twin. This is what she would look like if she carried on the twin theme! ha! Looks as if Eli (almost 5 months) has caught up to Jonah (almost 7 months)!

 Our boys playing!

Best buds! Only 2 months apart

Later we went to the Dave Mathews show. The weather was perfect.

At the show with our friends.

Meanwhile at the house.... Shelly, Adam, and Kristy kept Jonah. They said he was great.

Then on Sunday, we went to visit my aunts.
Uncle Jake and Aunt Connie getting some Jonah time!

We had a very busy weekend, but that is always how April is.

elvis week

Kyle got last minute tickets to the Elvis tribute show at the FedEx Forum from work. They were for the court side suite seats and dinner. Since we won't ever get to be spontaneous after McBoy gets here, we decided to go!

Mind you I went the week before to Graceland Too with some girls from work. I was in full Elvis spirit in August!

However, I was not in as much spirit as these ladies were... I totally forgot my pink Elvis shirt!

Our view.
I have never seen so many Elvis impersonators in my life. I have never seen as many crazy Elvis fans in my life too. But what did I expect? I was at a sold out show for a man that has been dead for 35 years. The crowd would stand and cheer after every song. They were cheering at a screen. Or I like to think they were cheering for the live band? Yeah, probably not!

There were fans from all over the world! I bet most of them were from overseas. Priscilla and Lisa Maria spoke. I mean, this was a BIG DEAL!

Overall, it was fun. I got to eat in the suite, kick back, and relax. We jetted out early since it was a Thursday night. If I ever get free tickets again, I'll go!

IBC

For Kyle's dirty thirty celebration, we went out to the International Blue Challenge. We didn't get to go last year so I was excited about going again!

Some of the girls out on Beale! Cindy, Betsy, me, Mariana, Steph.

I didn't get even get a picture with the birthday boy. We ate at the Blues City Cafe then hung out at B.B. Kings for a good part of the night. Every blues bar had great blues music. It is the best of the best from around the world. Besides BBQ fest, it is Kyle's favorite event in Memphis. All you do is buy a wrist band and it gets you in all the clubs. We always say we're going to get there aorund 4 and get a good seat and stay at the same blues bar but that never happens.

Later we went to the New Daisy for the jam sessions. AWESOME!

Since I was about 7 weeks pregnant, we were out by 11. And that was a late night for me! It was great fun. Kyle had a big birthday month. More pictures to come!

fall showers

Our last night in September was spent at the Levitt Shell. We love going to the shell.
To recap: free show, outdoors, great music, fall time=awesome date night!

We tried real hard to get the band in the picture.

The Alternate Routes played that night. The famous member of the band is the battered yellow toolbox that one of the band member plays.  First time I've heard that before and it sounded great.

Finally October is here. One of favorite months. It is the month I got engaged! Speaking of being engaged, my friend Lisa did and I went to one of her showers.

She's in the middle. So excited for her. I made my very first pinterest craft for her gift!

After the shower, I went to my parents house where I walked into this...

Kyle was grilling some burgers on the famous keg grill. If you grew up with me, then you know all about the grill! It has fed many of my friends. Mom tells me I had a habit of inviting people over all  the time to eat! I did! It was fun.
