we're expecting another runner

There were still people I wanted to surprise about our news so I came up with this idea. Since we run a lot, I wanted to have a running theme.

In the running world, races give you a bib number so they can track your time, tag you for pictures, and more. I was going to make a bib number for our picture (for baby) but my friend Jen suggested that we just use a baby bib for the bib number! Win-win! Great idea! And it turned out great!

More pictures!

My friend Jen also took our picture with our new camera!
I was nervous that people might not get it so I'll explain. 0912 is baby's bib number (running number) which also means he is due to arrive in September of 2012 which equals 09-12! Get it?! Good! We used our bib numbers from the marathon we ran last December.

I was about 13 weeks when this picture was taken in March.

We mailed our announements to family and friends in March. Then we made it facebook offical once we told all we needed to tell.
Hopefully baby McBoy will enjoy running as much as we do!

the cat is out of the bag

I wanted to make sure I surprised my friends on the news of our little one. In March, Kyle wanted to practice using his new smoker so we invited everyone over for a cook-out.

Kyle was wearing this!
When he answered the door, he would stop and everyone looked at him like "why are you just standing there with a bib on?" At first they thought he needed it for eating BBQ.

But then they looked closer and SCREAMED!
I didn't even think of getting peoples reactions but luckily Kristy got a couple. And I am kinda glad I didn't get her reaction because the girl was crying.

Shelly EXCITED!

YAY! They have been waiting for a little one.

Aunt Betsy finding out!

more hugs

Jen, as always, made some delish dessert!

YUM!

The UT-Martin Skyhawks were playing the UT Vols in the women's basketball tourney! They really should not put those two UT teams together. Not fair!

Boomer was not that excited about all the people coming to his hood.

The Perry's brought Jax

The Betts' brought London

London really liked Bailey

Leon and Nathan enjoying some cornhole

Kyle (with his bib) and Ray in action

Betsy and Shelly

Nathan fell asleep. How? I have no clue!

Amanda and Emily! My bible study girls!

The final product.

The engaged couple.

Emily!

Our turn to play cornhole

I think my team won!

We had a fun and exciting day telling our friends the big news!

aunt leah

Kyle's sister lives about 6 hours from us. So I wanted to tell her in a fun way.

So in March, I mailed her this. And on the box it read "call before opening."
She was a little suspicious because Kyle told Mimi the weekend before. And Mimi talked to Leah and said "there was something that I'm not supposed to tell you but I forgot what it was!"

She called and was very happy! Now to work on getting her closer to us!

SEC tourney

During March, Kyle went on his annual guys trip for the SEC tourney. He went down to New Orleans with his dad and Tony (his dad's college roommate).

Thanks to Tony, we have a picture. But not of Tony. Just Kyle and his dad.
Sadly, Mississippi State lost the 1st game. But the boys had a good time anyways. I still wonder why I am even blogging about a trip I never went on!

Kyle stopped to see Mimi on the way home and told her the good news of her new great-grand child that was in the making.  He told her to not tell anyone yet as we were going to surprise some people. She said that she'll forget so the secret was safe with her! So we thought.....
