food for finance: week 12 (I DID IT!) post Jonah weight loss

Once I set my mind to something that I feel I can achieve, I pretty much do everything in my power to do it. My stubbornness comes out!

3 months ago I set out to lose 12 pounds in 12 weeks. If I reached this goal, my work would pay me back the money I used to join weight watchers.

My highest while pregnant was 177 pounds. I gained almost 50 while pregnant.

Starting weight as of 12 weeks ago was 152.
week 11 I weighed 142...I still had 2 pounds to lose.

I am still nursing Jonah so I didn't want to lose weight too fast and hurt my supply.

During the 12 weeks, I lost, then gained, then lost!

But in the end, I WON!

Week 12 weight was 138!!! (last Thursday April 18, 2013)
I lost 4 pounds last week. The last 4 days I mainly ate free foods (fruits and veggies) and drank a ton of water.

I lost a total of 14 pounds.

I still have 9 pounds to lose to get down to my pre-pregnancy weight but I am very proud of myself! I lost 5% of body weight!

My milk supply is still ok and slowly my belly is slimming down. Just in time for summer. It is very hard to get this Jonah weight off.

I will add a picture to this soon to show before and after....but I still have 9 more pounds to go!

If you want to read my 12 week journey, here is is.

6 month pictures

We took J's 6 month pictures a couple of weeks early. April was crazy with traveling so we did them in March. We went back to our newborn photographer, Cindy Meisch.

Jonah didn't take his morning nap so we had to be creative to get him partake as the model!

Since it was a week from Easter, she did a few shoots this the chicks. He was barely sitting up on his own so she cropped me out since I had to help hold him up. She's cool like that!

Jonah had a lot of wardrobe changes!

Here is the link to the video she made of his photo shoot.

a multitasking dad

I have an amazing husband who helps in every way possible. He has been excited to start a family even before we were married.

If Jonah is fussy and we need to clean, the Ergo comes in handy! Kyle has been waiting for this moment for a long time! Such a sweet daddy and husband!

Jonah is a husband in training! You're welcome future wife of Jonah.

1st st. patty's day

Isn't he cute?

I found this shirt just in time. Nana and I were getting J's 9 month clothes out (yet he was only 5 months in this picture) and we found this shirt on St. Patrick's day! I bought a lot of clothes from my sorority sister so disregard the 2011 we will pretend it says 2013!

march madness tv stars

Kyle and his dad went on their annual trip to the SEC tournament in March. They went to Nashville and Nana came to help me take care of J.  We watched the 1st MSU game on tv and look who we saw...

Pops & daddy!

Since MSU won, they played Tennessee the next day.

Jonah did not know who to cheer for so he cheered for both teams.
But mommy's won in the end. Then they lost the very next game.

Jonah can't wait to go with the boys on the trip when he gets older so he doesn't have to shop with mommy and nana!

food for finance: week 11 WW weigh-in (starting my last week)

This week I lost ZERO weight!

I've lost 10 pounds in 11 weeks.
I'm on a 12 week weight watchers program to lose 12 pounds in 12 weeks. If I can lose that, my work will reimburse me!

I started off at 152 pounds
As of today I was 142 pounds

I need to lose 2 pounds in a week!
I love a good challenge but this is cutting close.

Operation lose Jonah's baby weight is getting harder. I want to get back to 129 pounds. My goal is to weigh that in July!

But for now, I need to lose these last 2 pounds!

I really need some well wishes!

family time

My Aunt Connie and Uncle Jake live about 1 hour from me. They've come to visit Jonah and it was our time to go see them last month.

He loves his Great-Aunt Connie

He is getting so big!

Jonah is always the center of attention and he showed them all of his tricks!

momsickle

This picture was taken a few weeks ago.

Jonah enjoying a momsickle.

Since I am exclusively breastfeeding, I wanted Jonah to try different textures. We are about to start solids since he just turned 6 months and I wanted to prepare him!

A momsickle is breast milk frozen in an ice tray. Since he doesn't have teeth yet, it is safe to put the momsickle in a feeder (if he had teeth he could tear the feeder and choke on the ice). So this works great for us. As an added bonus, it helps with teething. He likes the cold on his gums while getting some calories. Win-Win!

I didn't start this until he was about 5 months old. He loves it!

food for finance: week 9/10 WW weigh-in

I am getting close to the end of my 12 week "lose Jonah weight" challenge. After 2 weeks of weight gain, I am proud to say that I had 2 weeks of weight loss!

week 8 weight: 145.5
Week 9 weight: 143 (lost 2.5)
week 10 weight: 142 (lost 1)
Goal weight by week 12: 140
Goal weight by July: 129

I've lost a total of 10 pounds in 10 weeks. If I lose 2 more pounds in 2 weeks I get my money back! So thankful my job supports losing weight! I think it has helped by me cutting some of my nursing points. I have dipped a little in milk supply but not so much that I am worried.

Good news is that I ran 3 times last week! Whoot!

And my little J is now turned around in the B.O.B! He helps me gain extra activity points! He's heavy!

Wish me luck these next few weeks...
